Bheki Kunene is recipient of 2017 Global Leadership Award

Bheki Kunene, founder and CEO of MindTrix, a design company based in Guguletu, South Africa, is the 2017 recipient of Acacia Global’s Global Leadership Award.

Bheki was recognized for his creativity, curiosity, and commitment to his community. With MindTrix, Bheki has created jobs and given back to his community through volunteerism and financial contributions. Education and employment opportunities are the most powerful tools in alleviating poverty. Bheki’s personal story, and his leadership of MindTrix, demonstrate the transformative power of both education and jobs.

“I am so humbled and grateful for the recognition,” said Bheki upon learning of his award. “Sometimes life seems surreal and I am in disbelief at times at the turn of life events. I am lost for words but the feeling inside is amazing.”

Acacia Global announces the recipient of its Global Leadership Award on Human Rights Day, December 10th, every year. Previous recipients include: Mandla Majola (South Africa), Patricia and John Sola (Namibia), and Vuyiseka Dubula (South Africa).
